An art exhibition sharing stories to overcome stigma related to substance use disorder, mental health challenges, and trauma. On view the month of June, 2019, Sticks & Stones may be seen during limited viewing hours (June 24-26, Noon-5pm), and during public programs June 23 and June 27. 1407 Fleet Street Baltimore, MD 21231 Voice, one of several themes features artists: Bounge, Gloria Garrett, Michelle Labonte, Ben Cricchi, Anthony Ness, and Carolyn Anne Watts giving voice to painful experiences connected to behavioral health.

Sponsored by Powell Recovery Center and including resource tables from Powell Recovery Center, Baltimore Crisis Response, Inc., Dees Place Hebcac, Comprehensive Care Practice at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, and Marian House, "Wild Horses" at Maryland Art Place features art, music, and stories of inspiring love in the face of substance use disorder from so many people: Valerie Albee, Cheryl Maxwell, Jayme Severn, Toni Corteggiano-Torsch, and clients and staff of participating treatment and recovery programs.
Accompanying the event with songs for the occasion are musicians QueenEarth and Kirk Wulf. This was a FREE event open to the public, taking place in the context of the exhibition "Beyond Beautiful: One Thousand Love Letters" with light fare (chili, chop salad, corn muffins, and lemon squares) provided by The Classic Catering People during the 5:30-6:30pm reception, and the program of music, sharing, and stories.
